Sultan Greets Canadians On Canada Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei has sent congratulatory messages to Adrienne Clarkson, Governor-General of Canada, and Paul Martin, Prime Minister of Canada on the occasion of Canada Day.

His Majesty noted with satisfaction that the relations between the two countries had continued to develop from strength to strength. His Majesty also expressed his endeavour to widen and enhance the friendship in the coning years for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

His Majesty also hoped that Adrienne Clarkson and Paul Martin would remain in good health and happiness and for the people of Canada to enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a congratulatory message to his Canadian counterpart, William Graham.

HRH said he appreciated very much the warm and close ties that exist between the two countries and as Co-Chairman of the Asean-Canada Dialogue, HRH was particularly pleased with the progress made in regional cooperation over the past two years. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
