Sports School Reaps Outstanding
Record In Brunei And Abroad

Begawan – A year after its formation, the Sports School has
made outstanding achievement both here and abroad.
The achievement fulfilled its vision
to produce potential athletes who could represent the country at
regional and international levels.
Awang
Zaman bin Haji Ghafar, School Principal, spoke to Radio Television
Brunei (RTB) about the achievement of the first intake of students.
He said the students have done well
in the soccer championship among schools and colleges for players aged
below 15.
They also recorded a number of
victories in matches against teams representing the youth and sport
scheme and the Berakas English School.
Out of ten games, they won eight,
drew one and lost one.
The Sports School also sent 60
students to take part in the Asean Soccer Tournament for players under
15 in the Malaysian state of Pahang.
In the field of athletics, a student
of the school also won a gold medal in the 3,000-metre race and his
counterpart collected a bronze medal in the Sports Festival for
youngsters.
In the swimming arena, they also won
gold and silver medals in the Trithon Swimming Championship organised
by the Citi Bank.
According to the principal, the
Sports School will continue its efforts to produce potential athletes
who can make the nation proud both at regional and international sport
