Technical Schools Get
Accreditation For Pipe System Courses

Begawan - Nine technical instructors from the Department of
Technical Education, Ministry of Education, recently completed a
two-day course on Aquatherm Fusiotherm Pipe Installation System, which
began earlier this week.
A closing ceremony was held yesterday
morning at the Training Centre, Ministry of Development.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
on technical collaboration was signed between Aman Setia Company and
the Department of Technical Education on March 29, 2004.
The MoU enabled staff of the
technical education department to undergo training on Aquatherm
Fusiotherm pipe system with Aman Setia Company.
The principals of Sultan Saiful Rijal
Technical College and Nakhoda Ragam Vocational School were presented
with `Accredited Training Centre' certificates. The two technical
institutes will now be able to conduct courses on the installation of
Aquatherm Fusiotherm pipe systems.
Certificates were presented by the
chief guest, Pg Datin Paduka Hjh Mariam bte Pg Hj Matarsat, the Deputy
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.
The chief guest congratulated Aman
Setia Company for introducing the new technology to Brunei Darussalam
and for providing the technical know-bows to local technical
institutions on the installation of these pipe systems.
She also spoke on the importance of
close collaboration in the field of technical training between the
Department of Technical Education and the private sector.
To ensure that relevant quality
training is delivered, the department has set up 21 National Programme
Advisory Committees, she said.
Among those present yesterday were
Dyg Serina bte Abdullah, General Manager of Aman Setia Company, Acting
Director General of Ministry of Development, directors, senior
officers and staff from government departments and private sector.
