More Indon divas to come

One after another Indonesian divas
choose to perform in this country and the latest ones, Mayang Sari and
Ikke Nurjanah will be performing on September 1 at the Indoor Stadium,
Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
The concert is organised by
Progressive Link Enterprise whose office is situated at the Plaza
Athirah in Mile 1, Jalan Tutong.
Mayang Sari, the pop diva who becomes
famous with the song, Tiada Lagi (No More) and Ikke Nurjanah, the
dangdut diva, will be joined by another famous Indonesian singer from
the 60s, Ernie Djohan. Ernie will be the official emcee of the
concert.
According to the director of
Progressive Link Enterprise, Dra. Raden L Anastasya, the concert is
also promoting the Visit Brunei Year 2001 where apart from
performances of the Indonesian stars, cultural dances will be provided
by Citra Seni Brunei dancers and DKS Dancers.
Both groups will be performing local
and Indonesian traditional dances.
Local guest artists who will also
perform include Fathan Hj Anuar, the singing magistrate who will have
an album by the end of this year and Norzurina, a winner of Bintang
RTB in 1995.
A professional band Alfuru Band from
Jakarta will accompany the performances.
Anastasya said this concert would be
different from others because it would comprise a cultural show where
traditional music of Brunei Darussalam would be featured.
"All in all it is a
multi-variety performances comprising of pop and dangdut songs,
traditional dances and traditional music.
"So concert-goers will be
treated to a three-in-one musical extravaganza," she said.
Tickets costing $50, $30, $20 and $10
can be purchased from Progressive Link, Room 212 in Athirah Plaza,
Jalan Tutong, Ethnic's Gallery in Shakirin Complex in Kiulap, Bismi
Trading Co in Gadong, Zuleana Enterprise, Darussalam Complex in BSB,
Restoran Liyana in Kiulap and Pondok Seri Wangi in Gadong, Sengkurong
and Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
