Recitation Competition Held
Bandar
Seri Begawan – The finals of the Islamic Poetry Recitation
Competition in conjunction with the Prophet Mohamad’s Birthday
Anniversary at the Belait District was held this morning.
The
Belait District Kadi Pengiran Haji Ahmad in his speech hoped more
religious functions should be organised in the district in the future.
Twenty-two
participants competed.
The
category for government and non-government secondary schools was won
by Mohamad Mustaqin bin Omar from the Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran
Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School in Mumong and Dayang Rinawati Dollah
of the St. John’s School in Kuala Belait.
Awang
Sulfadli bin Nasu and
Dayang Nurhayna Mohamad both from the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah
Rashidah Religious School in Seria won the religious schools category.
Meanwhile
Dayang Yossnani Sulkifli was the winner in the category open for
public.
The
Chief Guest presented the prizes.
The
aim of the competition is to liven up the Maulud celebrations and
encourage students to speak up in public, and to propagate Islamic
values in Islamic Literature.
The
competition took place at the Anthony College in Seria.
