Brunei Forum In February 19 In
Singapore

Begawan - The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and
the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) will be launching
`The Brunei Forum' on February 19 in Singapore.
The two-day forum is aimed at
promoting awareness and dialogue of new opportunities for business
arising from recent developments in the sultanate, BEDB Acting
Chairman Dato Paduka Timothy Ong said in his letter to participants.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, His Royal Highness Prince
Mohamed Bolkiah, is amongst the five speakers from the sultanate who
will be delivering talks to ministers, senior government figures and
business leaders with an interest in Brunei's economic future and
the business opportunities it presents. Other speakers include Dato
Paduka Timothy Ong, the Deputy Minister of
Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah Hj Abdul
Wahab; Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office Pehin Dato
Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar; and the Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Trade II, Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng.
Managing energy resources in an
energy-scarce world, developing human resources for the challenges
in the 21st century and Brunei's role in Asean are among the topics
to be discussed during the forum.
The ISEAS is a regional research
centre based in Singapore dedicated to the study of socio-political,
security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and
