Hj Azman & Bennett best at RBAGC golf

Haji Azman Hj Daud and John Bennett emerged as the best nett and gross golfers at the RBAGC monthly medal tournament at RBA Golf Club yesterday.

Hj Azaman's score of 67 was good enough to win him the overall nett title, and to be crowned overall champion of the tournament.

Bennet carded an 80 to claim the best gross win. Both winners had also won vouchers for the next monthly medal as well as a 'round of golf' voucher for the Empire Hotel golf course.

Supahan Ismail won the overall gross crown with his round of 81, followed in second spot by Pg Hj Wahab PHO and Col (rtd) Hj Abd Aziz.

Hj Sani Bakir emerged as the winner in Division A (for golfers with a handicap 14 and below) with his nett score of 69. Pg Hj Samsuddin and Hj Khalid Hj Halim finished second and third respectively. In Division B (handicaps 15 to 19), Jimmy Chai won with his 67, while Patrick Ng and Yuzer Yusoff claimed second and third places respectively.

In Division C (handicaps 20 to 24), Kahar Bakar emerged as the winner with his 64, pushing Hj Zaini Mohammad and Hj Latif Hj Gharip into second and third places. Hj Khalid also won for 'nearest to pin' at hole number 5, while Dullah Sitai won in this category at hole number 12.

Supahan won for 'longest drive' at hole number 1.

On hand to present the prizes to the winners was the general manager of the RBA Golf Club, Pg Hj Samsuddin.
