Contract Signing For eHealth

Begawan – To keep abreast of the latest developments in
communications technology in the area of medical and health services
in an effort to improve the distribution and provision of quality
healthcare, the Ministry of Health is embarking on the first phase of
the eHealth project.
A landmark contract signing ceremony
for the Ministry of Health's Information Technology Network
Infrastructure took place yesterday morning at the ministry's
building.
The contract involves the supply,
delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of Category 6 (CAT6)
UTP Structured Cab) ing System in 52 locations in the four districts
of the country. They are the health centres, health clinics and other
buildings that belong to the ministry.
The network will connect all
treatment rooms, doctors' rooms and other relevant areas in a building
which potentially will need an access to the health information system
which will be carried out in a later phase.
The first phase of the eHealth
project will be carried out by four contractors. The supply, delivery,
installation,
testing and commissioning of Category
6 (CAT6) UTP Structured Cabling System at Site Group One will be
carried out by Commverge Solutions Holding (Asia) Inc., Brunei branch,
while the work at Site Group Two will be done by Semara Sdn Bhd.
Perniagaan
Dinamik Giat and Elite Computer System Sdn Bhd will undertake the
network infrastructure at Site Group 3 and 4 respectively.
The project costing $700,000 is
scheduled for completion in six months.
On behalf of the Ministry of Health,
Dr Hj Sablee Bin Haji Aspar, the Director of Healthcare Technology
signed the contracts.
Representing the respective
contractor companies to sign the contracts were Lim Boon Kok and Eric
Kan, Managers of Commverge Solutions Holding (Asia) Inc., Brunei
branch; Pg Haji Sofri Bin Hj Besar, the manager and Ken Ang, the head
of information officers of Semara Sdn Bhd; Thien Det Lin and Hermah
Binti Sebi from Syarikat Pemiagaan Dinamik Giat; and Chai Sze how and
Thein Pit Mui, the directors of Elite Computer Systems Sdn Bhd.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by
Dayang Aminah Binti Hj Md Jaafar, the Director of Pharmacy Set-vices.
