RBAF Champions Of SIP

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) golf team was champions of the Senior Interaction Programme (SIP) 2005 Golf Trophy Challenge held at the Empire Golf Country Club on Saturday. RBAF claimed the title after collecting 503 points based on stable ford format, while Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) managed to score 488 points.

Lt Col Hj Said of RBAF came out top with 39 points, followed by Lt Col Hj Abu Bakar (38 points on count back) and Lt Col Hj Harif (38 points). The prizes were presented by Lt Gen Dato Paduka Seri Ng Yat Chung.

Lt Col Kevin Ng of SAF topped the team with 37 points. Col Ng Chee Meng (36 points) and Col Oh Beng Chin (35 points ocb) were in second and third place respectively.

The prizes and challenge trophy were presented by Pehin Dam Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haj i Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof.

Lt Col Tay Peng Soon and Col (A) Dato Paduka Hj Mahmud won the best pairing awards, followed by Col Tay Sin Chuan/Lt Col Pg Aminan and Lt Gen Dato Paduka Seri Ng Yat Chung/Col Pg Azmansham.

I n the novelty prizes, Lt Col John Swee won the nearest to the line at hole number 8, Lt Col Hj Zakaria won longest drive at hole number 15, Lt Col Hj Azlan won

nearest to the pin at hole number 16, Lt Col Zainal Ariffin Zainuddin won nearest to the pin at hole number 14, Col (DR) Chong Chun Hon won nearest to the pin at hole number 7 and BG Gary Ang won nearest to the pin at hole number 4. These prizes were given out by Col Pengiran Rosli bin Pengiran Hj Chuchu.

Meanwhile, the bowling competition between Bakti of RBAF and SAF Officers' Wives Club was held at the Utama Bowling Complex on Saturday.

Ummiyati bte Hj Mohd Noor of Bakti was the winner with a score of 352 points, while Elisa bte Abdullah (340 points) and Rozanna bte Khalid (322) were in second and third place respectively. Prizes were given out by Datin Judie Ng.

Esther Chiang of SAF won the first place with a score of 322 points, followed by Judy Yeo (309 points) and Linda Quek (2.87 points).

Hjh Laila bte FIj Yahya and Judy Yeo won the best pairing awards, while Badariah bte Hj Mohd Jaafar/Esther Chiang were in second place and Rozanna bte Khalid/Yvonne Sim were in third place.

Datin Judie Ng won the most supportive player award. The prizes were presented by Datin Hjh Kalsom bte Hj Suhaili.
