Distribution Of Korban Meat In Belait

Kuala Belait - Members of fifteen less fortunate families, orphans and 38 others from the Belait area received Korban meats during the distribution of Korban and Aqiqah meat organised by the Takmir committee of Muhd Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait on Thursday morning.

The event was held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidil Adha celebration this year.

Present to distribute the meat to the recipients and members of the public was Belait District Acting Mosque Affairs Officer, Pg Ibrahim bin Pg Mohd Yussof.

The Korban ceremony which is one of the Takmir mosque religious activities was aimed at fostering closer relations among Muslims in the Belait District.

A committee member of Takmir Muhd Jamalul Alam Mosque stated that the mosque is currently giving opportunity to worshippers who wish to participate in the Korban and Aqiqah in December this year.

A monthly installment payment of $28 for a goat and $25 for part of a buffalo for a period of twelve months is offered by the Takmir committee.

Meanwhile, at the Surau Belait District Police headquarters, a Korban ceremony or the Feast of Sacrifice was held yesterday morning where seven people took part in the Ibadah Korban this year by sacrificing a buffalo.

Present to distribute the Korban meat to the participants, Belait police personnel as well as guests was Belait OCPD, Supt Pg Kamaluddin bin PSR Pg Hj Jaya. At least thirty officials and private rank of Belait District Police assisted in slicing the Korban meat for distribution.

And for the first time, Perdana Wazir Secondary School through the Ministry of Education also conducted Korban and Aqiqah ceremony whereby five cows and a buffalo were slaughtered.
