Indonesian Embassy Celebrates Aidil Adha

Bandar Seri Begawan – Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia here celebrated Hari Raya Aidil Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice at the embassy's premises in Kg Sungai Hanching yesterday morning.

The ceremony began with the mass recitation of the 'Takbir' followed by the Aidil Adha mass prayer led by Imam Ustaz Hj Mohd Sholeh, an Indonesian working with the Ministry of Education. It was then followed by a religious sermon delivered by Ustaz Dr Hj Shahibuddin Laming.

Attending the ceremony was the Indonesian Designated Ambassador, Mr Herijanto Soeprapto, together with the embassy staff.

The highlight of the Aidil Adha celebration was the slaughter livestock including two buffaloes, two cows and four goats. Mr Herijanto Soeprapto witnessed the first sacrificial slaughter before the meat was distributed to the needy in the country. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
