SME Business Development Centre Formed

Bandar Seri Begawan – Local business-people can now realise their full potential with the formation last week ofa SME Business Development Centre at Beribi Industrial Complex Phase Two.

More than 50 members of the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) attended a doa selamat and thanksgiving ceremony to mark the occasion, which also saw BMCCI's President, Hj Razali Hj Johari delivering an address.

He expressed his appreciation for the support given by the Ministry of Development towards the project.

"We would also like to express our gratitude for the personal encouragement from the Minister of Development, particularly Pehin Dato Hj Abdullah, on implementing the business development centre, especially for local contractors registered with them," he said.

He disclosed that a soft launch of the business centre's development is going to be held on January 18.

Apart from providing business opportunities to local businessmen, the project will also offer employment to the Sultanate's people.

"I call upon members of the chamber to give their support to the business development centre's implementation, which we consider a milestone in promoting local entrepreneurs and SMEs in Brunei Darussalam," he added. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
