Brunei Muara District Football League Launched

Bandar Seri Begawan – Dragonfly FC hit three goals past Stamp FC without reply to mark the opening ceremony of the 2006 Brunei Muara District Football League, which was held at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium yesterday.

Two goals from Mohd Soffyhairol Azmi bin Hj Momin and one from Md Nur Alif bin Abdul Hamid helped Dragonfly FC secured the first win in the Division Three opening match.

The,_.2006 Brunei Muara District Football League organised by Brunei Muara District Football Association and sponsored by NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd, is divided into three leagues, namely Division One, Division Two and Division Three.

The 2006 Brunei Muara District Football League was officially launched by the guest-of-honour Pehin Major General (R) Dato Awang Hj Mohammad bin Hi Daud, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

A total of 39 teams (12 teams in Division One, nine in Division Two and 18 in Division Three) lined up to witness the opening ceremony yesterday.

A mock cheque of $15,500 was handed over by Ninan Chacko, the Managing Director of NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd to Pehin Major General (R) Date Awang Hj Mohammad yesterday.
