Brunei to host Asean fencing meet

The Brunei-Muara District Football Association (BMDFA) held a group draw for the upcoming "Brunei Muara District Division League" at the Jury Room of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on Monday night.

Group matches are scheduled to kick-off on Jan 29 until the end of February before the semifinals take place.

Before the draw was conducted, team managers were briefed by the BMDFA President, Pg Hj Ali Hassan bin Pg DSLJ Hj Abas on the format and also the rules and regulations of the competition.

A total of 10 teams from the district will compete in this year's league after defending champions Sabina FC withdrew from the competition due to their participation in the B-League.

The BMDFA introduced a new format this season where teams are split into two groups, Group A and Group B in which the two top teams will proceed to the playoffs in the semifinal stage.

Group A is made up of Bebuloh FC, IKLS, Menglait FC, Seri Bolkiah FC and Muara Star FC while in Group B are Perkasa, Remaja, PAPP, Sungai Buloh FC and Perka

A draw will be held again on Jan 29 at the Belapan field to determine which teams play in the opening game.
