Charity Walkathon Held For Tsunami Victims

Bandar Seri Begawan – Members of the public continue to raise money for the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund in the Sultanate.

A walkathon was held at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre yesterday.

The Mukim Sengkurong and Mukim Pengkalan Batu Consultative Council and the Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it sponsored the event.

The activity began with an exercise in preparation for the walk.

The walkathon aimed not only at promoting a healthy lifestyle but also at encouraging the participants of the walk to donate to the tsunami relief fund.

The walkathon began and ended at the car park of the Jerudong Park Ampitheature.

Joining the walkathon was Pehin Dato Awang Haji Adanan, the Acting Minister of Home Affairs; Dato Awang Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry; officers and staff of the Ministry of Home Affairs; the various departments under it; and, members of the public. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
