Unsafe house torn down in Kg Ayer

The Mukim Consultative Council of
Kampong Saba began demolishing an empty house that had been deemed
unsafe to live in at Kampong Saba Darat B of Kampong Ayer, yesterday
afternoon.
Assisting in tearing down the house
were a number of government agencies including the Fire Services
Department (Marine), Electrical Department, Royal Brunei Armed Forces,
Brunei Muara District Office and the Public Works Department (Water).
About 100 people were involved in the
demolishment work. Also present to lend a hand were Dato Paduka Awang
Haji Adnan bin Haji Hanafiah, Brunei Muara District Officer, Awang
Hajii Jamain bin Momin, Assistant Brunei Muara District Officer, Awang
Hj Ibrahim bin Besar, Acting Penghulu of Mukim Saba and government
officials from the Brunei Muara District Office.
The house was demolished to ensure
that any unwanted incidents in the future would be avoided and to
clean up the environment.
