State Judiciary Department Formulates Strategic Planning

Bandar Seri Begawan - The first phase of a meeting between the State Judiciary Department, Civil Court and Syariah Court to formulate a strategic plan commenced yesterday at the Supreme Court.

The three-day meeting and brainstorming session between staff and officers is to understand and learn of a strategic plan in an organisation; exchange views of roles and responsibilities; share working experience among staff; identify facts and figures in relation to work and responsibilities of an organisation; identify the problems and discuss among parties that are involve in formulating the strategic plan.

In his opening speech, Acting Director of the State Judiciary cum Chairman of the meeting Awang Haji Azahari bin Haji Ahmad said the immediate objective of the meeting is to provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among administrators, lawyers and other staff of the involved departments.

The Acting Director further added that he has watched with interest the rapid increase in the efforts of all organisations to make impressive progress over the years by having appropriate and comprehensive strategic plans, which comprise of shortterm and long-term objectives under brave and highly ambitious visions.

The meetings will cover a wide range of topics addressing problems associated with justice and the issues of quality assurance in the court services.

He also stressed that such meeting was the first of its kind to focus exclusively on the judicial strategic planning of Brunei Darussalam and enlighten the involved parties that such work could take up to months to compile facts and figures, identify relevant aspects, then evaluate in order to select priorities among them. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
