Ban 4 area underwater yet again
By Zaabah Har

Flood-stricken cars at a residents home in Ban 4

The heavy downpour on Thursday night caused several low-lying areas in the capital to be submerged. The area along Ban 4, which has always been prone to floods, was not spared either. Despite the rain ending about four hours later, some areas were noticeably still flooded early yesterday morning and the waters had yet to subside.

Motorist had to drive at a snails pace to avoid flooding their engine and at some areas there was no clear marker where the road ended and the drains began, endangering motorists even further. Some called for barriers to be erected along the road to prevent motorists from accidentally driving into flooded ditches.

A resident of Ban 4 said, "Although the floods are quite a regular sight for us whenever there is a heavy downpour, we would still like the authorities to rectify the situation, especially in building a better drainage system."
