New Village Head For Kampung Lambak

Bandar Seri Begawan - Awg Haji Bujang bin Ahim, the New village head of Kampung Lambak `A', received his appointment certificate at a ceremony at his residence in Kg Lambak, Berakas.

Present to hand over the certificate was Dato Seri Setia Haji Yusoff Bin Hj Ismail, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs and guest of honour.

Also in attendance were Dato Paduka Hj Adanan Hj Hanafiah, Brunei Muara District Officer, government officers, village residents and invited guests.

Dato Haji Yussof, in his speech, advised the new village head to commit to fulfilling the needs of the villagers, adding that a consultative council should be formed in order to foster ties between residents and promote activities that are beneficial to the village.

He also suggested more activities be organised to steer youths from social ills.

He called on all village heads and penghulus to inform enforcement agencies, should there be any suspicious activity of drug abuse and smuggling, so as to uphold the stability of the country.

Meanwhile, Dato Hj Adanan called on the community to be more proactive when it comes to planning and hosting events for the village.

He also emphasised on the importance of tolerating each other and maintaining the cleanliness of the area.
