By Rol Ezam and Malai FadleyRizal

Kuala Belait - The Kuala Belait Magistrate's Court yesterday imposed a $2,000 fine or in default two months' imprisonment on a 21-year-old Indonesian woman after she pleaded guilty to having in possession forged passes endorsed in her passport.

The court heard that defendant Ernilia had entered the Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post from Miri, Sarawak on December 21 last year.

There, she proceeded to the Passport Clearance Terminal, where an immigration officer on duty discovered two Brunei Immigration passes believed to be forged, endorsed in her passport.

According to Immigration Prosecutor Reduan bin Hj Adnan, the defendant had never entered Brunei before.

Ernilia also admitted that she had obtained the said passes from someone in Sibu, Sarawak, for a fee of RM$300. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
