Clothing, Essential Items From Empire For Tsunami Victims

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Human Resources Department of The Empire Hotel & Country Club has established a collection drive to pull together clothing, essential items and food from team members to be donated to the tsunami victims through the Sri Lankan Association in Brunei.

A total of 140 boxes of clothing, footwear and food items were collected and these were sent directly to the Sri Lankan Association of Brunei, which will then be distributed to the millions of affected victims in Sri Lanka.

To assist with the item transportation, Brunei Transporting Company kindly supported this cause by transporting the goods to the association at no cost.

"We are extremely pleased with the overwhelming response of all our team members to contribute towards this cause and will actively make every effort to assist the tsunami victims where possible," said Ms Lee Ngee Tan, Human Resources Manager.

The Empire Hotel and Country Club joins the region in mourning the passing of the large number of victims that perished in the recent disaster.

To aid and assist the victims of the catastrophe, The Empire Hotel and Country Club will be collecting funds to be donated towards the Relief Fund for Victims of the Tsunami Disaster headed by the Department of Community Development of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
