Bandar Seri
Begawan - Dato Paduka Haji Sheikh Adrian bin Sheikh Mohamad,
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, recently attended
the 25th session of the Executive Council of the Islamic, Educational
and Scientific Organisation (ISESCO) in Rabat, Morocco.
During the annual meeting, the
Executive Council - one of the three main organs of ISESCO - endorsed
several reports that will be forwarded for adoption by the General
Conference of ISESCO.
Held from Dec 24 to 26, the meeting
also saw the Council appointing Dr Hadi Azizzadeh of the Islamic
Republic of Iran as the new Deputy Director General of ISESCO for a
three-year term of office effective Jan 1.
ISESCO
also elected new Financial Control Committee members.
In a bid to establish further
relations and support, the Council approved the `Programme on ISESCO's
Ambassadors for Dialogue Among Cultures and Civilisations' and the
`General Framework of Support Programme Towards Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Institutions in Afghanistan.'
Ever since Brunei joined ISESCO in

its conferences, seminars and training programmes.
In the past, Brunei hosted several
regional and national programmes for ISESCO.
Last year, the Sultanate hosted an
ISESCO National Workshop on `Effective Inclusion Strategies For
