Religious Council Donates To Needy
Students

Begawan - The Committee for Withdrawing Zakat Money of the
Brunei Islamic Religious Council has implemented Consolidated Zakat
Money Distribution programmes for the needy in an effort to diversify
assistance.
The assistance is intended to improve
their living standards and to take care of children's needs so that
they do not get left behind in education.
Yesterday, the Brunei Islamic
Religious Council donated school stationery worth $1,370.45 to poor
and needy students for the 2005 schooling session.
The assistance came in the form of
workbooks, writing tools, school bags and other items.
The council also contributed school
uniforms including shoes, sports attire, headscarves, shirts and
trousers. A total of 16 needy children from primary and secondary
government schools received assistance.
The items were handed over by Dyg Hjh
Norzainah bte Md Tahir, as a representative of the Secretary of the
Brunei Islamic Religious Council. --
