Local Drug User Gets Three Years In Jail

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 37-year-old local man was jailed for three years yesterday after pleading guilty to a charge of consuming Syabu, a class “A” drug.

According to the Police Prosecuting Officer, Nasir bin Jalil who is a second time offender under the Misuse of

Drugs Act, was arrested by a team of CID Police personnel on January 19, 2003 at about 6.40 am.

Police found utensils, which were later tested and found to contain traces of Methylamphetamine (Syabu).
