their briefing yesterday morning.
Some 282 students from government and
private schools registered their names at the Sayyidina Husain
Secondary School (SM Sayyidina Husain) to begin their first few days
of secondary level education, during a registration and orientation
ceremony held at the school premises yesterday morning.
Students and their proud parents
gathered yesterday at the multi-purpose hall of the school for student
registrations. They then attended a briefing for the new Form One
students.
The Principal of Sayyidina Husain
Secondary School, Cikgu Hjh Rosni Hj Mohd Amin was on hand to welcome
the new students to the school.
Cikgu Hjh
Rosni also reminded the students to be disciplined and to follow the
rules that had been laid out during school hours including extra class
periods.
She also noted that education at the
secondary level is different in that the students are urged to be more
creative and not to be overly dependent on their teachers.
She also reminded the parents and
guardians to cooperate in nurturing their children to study more
during their free time.
The three-day orientation programme
for the new Form One secondary students includes moral counselling and
educational build-up sessions, along with visits to several subject
rooms and laboratories along with further registrations for respective
subjects.
