Bandar Seri
Begawan - T.C.Y Motors Sdn Bhd released another of its new
imported cars, Ssangyong Stavic, yesterday morning at its showroom in
Jalan Batu Bersurat.
The Stavic is set to create waves in
the MPV market by setting new benchmarks as to what an MPV should be.
The Ssangyong Stavic is a large sized
MPV powered by a 3rd generation Common Rail Turbo Diesel 2.7 litre
DOHC engine (270 XDi), the very same engine that powers the popular
Ssangyong Rexton RX270.
Its 5-cylinder inline turbo charged
engine is capable of developing a maximum power of 165 ps at 4,000 rpm
and a maximum torque of 342 Nm at 1,800 rpm.
Mated to the powerful diesel engine
is a Mercedes Benz T-Tronic 5-speed automatic gearbox that also has a
manual shift option. Drive is provided to the rear wheels through a
robust rear axle.
The 4-wheel independent suspension
with coil springs all round give the Stavic excellent handling and a
comfortable ride. Safety features include driver's airbag, ABS and EBD.
Other features that come standard include 16" alloy wheels, keyless
entry and alarm system.
In Brunei, the Stavic comes with a
9-seater configuration, capable of transporting a large family.
The interior of the Stavic is
luxuriously appointed, with full carpeting and dual air-conditioning.
The centre row of seats can be folded over to make coffee tables.
The Stavic will be retailed at a
showroom price of $44,450. --
