By Izam S. Ya'akub

Bandar Seri Begawan - In line with the Brunei Government initiative, Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) will donate some proceeds from its sales of online bookings to destinations in Thailand and Indonesia to those affected by the recent tsunami disaster across the region.

RBA will contribute B$25 for every one-way economy class ticket and B$50 for every one-way business class ticket purchased online at its website www.bruneiair.com from the January 5 to February 5, 2005, on its flights to Jakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar and Bangkok.

The amount collected will be donated to the Brunei Relief Fund for Tsunami Victims established by the Brunei Government.

"The management and staff of Royal Brunei Airlines are deeply saddened by the suffering caused as a result of the recent tsunami," said a spokesperson from RBA.

"Many of our staff has made personal contributions to the relief effort and we hope our contribution will help lessen the suffering," he added.

"By making our contribution through online sales of tickets to specifically Bangkok, Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar, we hope to help support the efforts of the Thai and Indonesian governments to keep the tourism industry moving, which will in turn produce long-term benefits to those affected." -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
