Documentary Film On Brunei-China

Begawan - A ten-member Chinese delegation from China Central TV
(CCTV) and the Chinese National Museum paid a visit to the Information
Department under the Prime Minister's Office in Jln Airport Lama
yesterday morning.
Headed by Mr Wang Jun, the Chinese
delegates are in Brunei to film a historic programme connecting Brunei
with China based on the several Chinese artefacts that had been
discovered in Brunei waters and the cultural relics of the Ming
Dynasty at the Brunei National Museum.
The visit also served to foster
closer ties between both countries' museum departments and the
television networks.
During the visit to the Information
Department, the Chinese delegates were greeted on arrival by Hj Bujang
bin Hj Masu'ut, Director of Information.

Kassim bin Hj Abd Rahman, the Acting Information Officer was on hand
to give a brief and detailed explanation of the history and functions
of the Department.
After the half-hour briefing, Mr Wang
Jun presented a token of appreciation to the Director of Information
and thanked him for the hospitality.
During the two-day trip to Brunei,
the Chinese group would start filming for their programme at the site
of Sungai Limau Manis where the archaeological discovery of the
Chinese relics was made.
The programme will also cover the
cultural relics of the Ming Dynasty at the Brunei National Museum. The
Chinese delegates will also visit the Historic Centre to obtain more
information about historic link between Brunei and China.
The historical programme is schedule
to be aired sometime within the month of July this year on CCTV
channel. --
