Over 3,000 Students Pass Six
Religious Schools Certificate

Begawan – Some 3,557 students or 84.19 per cent passed the
Standard Six Religious Schools' Certificate Examination last year.
A total of 4,225 candidates sat for
the examinations. This included 1,062 candidates from 35 pioneer
schools.
Out of those passed, 1,898 candidates
or 44.92 per cent obtained Grade One, 805 candidates or 19.05 per cent
got Grade Two and 854 or 20.21 per cent obtained Grade Three.
Twenty-one schools, including nine
pioneer scheme schools achieved 100 per cent passes.
Meanwhile, out of 234 candidates, who
sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Ugama Brunei (SPUB) 184 or 78.6 per cent
passed by obtaining full certificate.
The result showed a decrease of 7.7
per cent compared to last year's achievement.
A total of 19.5 candidates or 83.3
per cent obtained at least Credit or Jayyid in four subjects, a
decrease of 5.7 per cent compared to year 2003's results.
Meanwhile, 106 candidates out of 113
candidates or 93.8 per cent passed the Brunei Higher Religious
Education Certificate Examination held last year.
The result showed a decrease of 1.2
per cent compared to the previous year.
Those passed included 28 with Mumtaz
or Distinctions, 22 candidates obtained Jayyid Jiddan or Very Good,
and 27 candidates obtained Jayyid or Credit.
