Tell Us When You Move Urges Post
Official
Bandar Seri
Begawan – The Postal Services Department has advised the public
to redirect their mail once they move home. This was to ensure that
mail through postmen arrive on time.
Awang
Hamir bin Mohd Salleh the Assistant Postmaster General for Operation
Section, when disclosing this to Radio Television Brunei (RTB) said
that there have been public complaints concerning undelivered mails.
He said that cooperation from the
public was important as postmen could not be entirely blamed if home
addresses are not updated. Therefore the public who wish to redirect
their mails could get application forms for redirection at any post
office branches in the four districts.
Awang
Hamir made the remarks at a ceremony to appoint a postal
representative in Kampong Bolkiah 'A' in Kampong Ayer this morning.
Awang
Rusbi bin Idris whose residence is at Number 42G, Jambatan 65, Jeti 3,
in the Kampong was appointed as the Postal Services' representative as
from yesterday.
Awang
Rusbi, a part-time water taxi driver will receive a monthly allowance
of $150.
The appointment of postal
representatives was in line with the department's vision to be a
business and information centre and to provide good facilities for the
convenience of the customers.
The department is making an effort in
providing better facilities to the public in rural areas especially in
areas which were inaccessible by postmen.
Kampong Bolkiah 'A' is situated at
Kampong Ayer and has a population of more than 1,000 with more than
225 homes.
Apart from delivering letters, the
postal representatives also sell stamps and receive registered
