Residents in the vicinity of Simpang 74-59 Kg Mata-Mata, are calling for repair works to be undertaken by contractors who are responsible for leaving the road in a poor state due to frequent use by heavy vehicles headed to nearby developments.

They said some contractors had left unfulfilled their promises to repair and maintain the roads.

"The deterioration is at its worst now because of the rainy period. We hope they will be responsible enough to carry out repairs on our damaged roads," they said.

At some parts of the road, potholes could be seen and surfaces are uneven.

"The area was frequented by heavy trucks because of nearby developments, and unfortunately their presence has resulted in further deterioration to our roads," they added.
