JPCC Golf Champion

Begawan - The Jerudong Park Country Club yesterday held the "Hari
Raya and New Year Golf Tournament" at the Royal Brunei Golf and
Country Club where about 60 of its club members participated.
This is the fourth time the event has
been held which is part of the club's annual activity. This year's
tournament was sponsored by Boustead Sdn Bhd and Setia Motors Sdn Bhd.
The one-day event was categorised
into three divisions; Division A for single handicap, Division B for
intermediate and Division C for amateurs. There were also other
contested events such as the "nearest to the pin-hole" and the
"longest drive hole"
In the Nett Division C, Pg Hj Hassim
Pg Hj Osman won first place with a score of 70 followed by runner-up
Pg Hj Ismail Pg Hassan with 74 points.
As for the Nett Division B, Hj Rahim
Hj Latif emerged on top with 70 points while second place went to Hj
Ishaaq Abdullah who had 71 points.
In the Nett Division A, Azhar Hj Md
Saji finished in first place collecting 72 points followed by YAM Pa
Anak Haji Saifullah with 73 points.
For the Overall Nett, Pg Hj Jambol Pg
Hj Sulaiman took home the Hari Raya Challenge trophy after finishing
top with 64 points while second place was won by Suthershanan Nair who
finished with 67-points.
As for the Overall Gross, Dato SH
Adnan SH Mohammad won first place collecting 81 points, receiving the
New Year Challenge trophy and second place went to Lt Kol (B) Hj
Brahim Jumahat who also finished on 81 points.
As for the other events, Kevin Lau
won the longest drive hole whereas for the other five nearest to the
pin hole, the winners were Hj Wahid Mundus (hole #3), Pg Hj Hassim Pg
Hj Osman (hole #8), Hj Mahmud Hj Md Noor (hole #13), Ak Wirahadi Pg Hj
Md Salleh (hole #16) and Hj Osmar Duraman (hole #4).
During the prize presentation, the
novelty prizes were given away by the Executive Director of JPCC, Hj
Kanaluddin Hj Mohd Yussof while the main division prizes were
presented by Dato Paduka Hj Abd Rahman bin Hj Mohidin, the Chairman of
Jerudong Park Country Club.
Meanwhile, the club is also planning
to hold a charity golf known as the "Charity Golf Tournament Tsunami
Disaster" somewhere at the end of January which will run for three
days from Friday to Sunday. --
