Jaywalkers, Use The Zebra Crossing

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some pedestrians have been spotted jaywalking in the capital even though a zebra crossing was just metres away from them.

Zebra crossings are meant to protect pedestrians from being hit by vehicles. Although most pedestrians use the zebra crossing to cross the road, there are some who do not bother using them.

There have been a number of accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians. In light of this, zebra crossings have been laid in the capital to ensure that pedestrians cross the road safely.

Concerned public members hoped relevant authorities would issue specific statements regarding the usage of the zebra crossings. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
