Call To Bar Dogs From Recreational Parks
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan – Pet owners are urged to stop taking their dogs with them to a walk at local recreation parks.

The call came from several members of the public who go on outings at these public places who said that recreational parks such as Bukit Shahbandar, Taman Damuan and Tasek Lama must be strictly for people only.

"Animals and dogs especially should not be taken along as they could spoil the enjoyment that people hope to get from such leisurely outings," they said.

A father also complained to the Bulletin after he took his children for an outing to Bukit Shahbandar recently.

He said he had to leave earlier as his offspring was fearful of huge dog brought there by someone.

He said public parks should be out of bounds for animals such as dogs as they could also dirty the footpaths.

"A regulation should be put in place for public parks such as Bukit Shahbandar, Damuan and Tasek Lama as well as other outing 'destinations to be out of bounds for pets including dogs," he said -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
