Dusun Family Embraces Islam

Bandar Seri Begawan – A Dusun couple uttered the 'Dua Kalimah Syahadah' earlier yesterday, thus proclaiming themselves and their two daughters as Muslims.

Awang Sungkai bin Injan, a personnel of the Support Batalion of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and his wife, Suriah binte Yuyok, along with their two daughters, aged 8 and 2 years old, embraced the Islamic faith in front of an officer from the Tutong Dakwah Unit.

Awang Sungkai is now known as Abdul Muhaimin bin Abdullah Injan.

RTB was told that the couple's three elder children had already embraced Islam earlier this year.

Present at the ceremony was Pehin Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Also present were other Royal Brunei Armed Forces Service Commanders, Senior Officers from the Ministry of Defence and officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
