The Sultan was speaking to the
nation in conjunction with his annual 2005 New Year titah
yesterday.
He expressed his deepest
sympathies and condolences to both our neighbouring and friendly
countries that have been affected by the tsunami disaster.
His Majesty's titah clearly
demonstrated that Brunei also feels the suffering and pain that
have befallen them.
Speaking about the country's
development, His Majesty underscored the importance of all the
sectors to pool together towards this end and purpose.
In His Majesty's view, the
process of national development would not be complete without the
involvement of the private sector.
In this relation, His Majesty
reminded that all the negative elements such as abuses of power
and corruption must be eradicated from the development process.
For life within the community and
in a nation as well as in neighbourly living, it is better to
foster the spirit of goodwill.
His Majesty voiced His Majesty's
