Age With Grace And All Will Be
Well, Muslims Told
Bandar Seri
Begawan – Muslims should appreciate the blessings and good
things that Allah the Almighty gives them.
These include wealth and prosperity.
However, these are meaningless if one
does not have good health or a good life.
The reminder was made in the Khutbah
or Friday sermon yesterday.
All Allah's gifts and blessings would
mean nothing without good health, the ability to think and make proper
judgement as well as make good use the life that one lives.
However, many people often fail to
count or appreciate their blessings, and are tricked or beguiled by
worldly pleasures and comforts.
Allah's blessings are both priceless
and countless.
The Khutbah says the gift of age is
very important for without it one would not be able to be with family
and friends or society.
All these and the opportunity to
serve the Almighty till life ends therefore one should not waste the
gift of life the gracefully ageing process .
The sermon added that as gratitude to
Allah for the gift of age, the people should make the utmost of life
doing good deeds and or serving God by performing Ibadah.
One should do things that Allah
commands and avoid all, which the Almighty prohibits.
One should also one's parents,
religion, ruler and the community as a whole, either with wealth,
energy or even thought, with sincere intention to serve Allah.
The Friday sermon concludes that
doing something that one regrets later is unwise, because the things
that people do, in this world, good or bad, will be judged by Allah in
the after world. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
