Youth Program To Keep Them
Straight Starts In Belait
Kuala Belait –
In an effort to encourage youths to get involved in mosque-organised
activities, the Kampung Pandan National Housing Scheme Mosque in Kuala
Belait has organised a youth program.
More than 60 young people from six
mosques in the Belait District took part in the program. Among the
program's-activities were a religious talk, azan competition and Jawi
writing contest.
The talk focused on the role of
youths according to Islam was delivered by Awang Zulkifti bin Haji
Zakaria, an officer from the Belait Mosque Affairs,.
It was aimed at inspiring the youths
to become self-motivated, but more importantly, to embrace the true
spirit of being a Muslim.
Apart from glorifying the mosque, the
purpose of the program was to train the youths to be more committed
and responsible.
It also aimed to instil a sense of
awareness toward social problems in an effort to mould the young to
become a generation mentally and spiritually healthy. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
