Heart And Kidney Patients At Risk Of Bird Flu, Says Brunei Medic

Bandar Seri Begawan – People who have close contact with poultry farms and birds infected with the virus and especially children are at high risk of being infected by the Bird Flu.

Those with other medical conditions such as heart and kidney disease, are also at risk, Pengiran Doctor Haji Hishamuddin, an officer from the Department of Health Services has disclosed.

So far there is no evidence showing that the Bird Flu virus could be transmitted from human to another as it only can be spread from bird to human.

If one is infected by the Type A flu-virus, the source of transmission is not from another infected human but from infected bird, he said. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
