Beware Of Conman

Bandar Seri Begawan - Several members of the public have lamented their unfortunate encounters with a conman.

This conman believed to be in his fifties had been going around town asking people for money. To win their sympathies, he cooks up stories such as his car ran out of fuel and he needed money to buy fuel.

A woman shared her experience with the Bulletin, which happened yesterday in Kiulap. As she parked her car, the conman opened her car door and started to share his 'so called' predicament.

She told him that she could not help him and he walked away. However, while she was in one of the shops, he happened to pass by and saw that she was inside the shop. He walked up to the door, but quickly left as the woman loudly told the shop's staff that he tried to con her.

This man also claimed that he came from Jerudong.
