Focus On Excellence Urges Special Advisor

Bandar Seri Begawan – Each management level at the Ministry of Home Affairs and its departments should focus on excellence.

Pehin Dato Haji Awang Isa, Special Advisor to His Majesty at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Home Affairs said this at a discussion session of top officials yesterday.

Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Head of Departments Deputy Head of Departments and senior officers at the Ministry of Home Affairs attended the meeting.

Officials also need to show a high degree of commitment in examining the requirement and renewing procedures.

In achieving this goal, a systematic method is required that could create a much more efficient, effective and excellent service able to satisfy the members of public without exposing government secrets, he said.

The minister added Public Caterers or Tekad Pemedulian Orang Ramai (TPOR) should be reviewed and examined from time to time in line with the development needs, current situation and public demand.

He said the examination should be carried out to determine elements that have negative impact on the government expenditure.

The meeting was to discuss and exchange ideas while creating opinion for their own good and at the same time upgrade the quality of services and planning of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Among the agenda were the report from departments under the ministry including the financial and expenditure aspects as well as development and projects carried out by respective departments.
