Students awarded for academic
achievements

More than a hundred primary school
students from Sekolah Rendah Pantai Berakas Brunei II were awarded for
their academic achievements during a prize presentation ceremony
yesterday morning at the school's hall.
The event coincided with the
launching of the school's new website.
Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces Dato Paduka Haji Abdu'r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir, who
was the guest of honour, was on hand to present prizes to prizes to
outstanding students.
The ceremony began with a speech by
the principal, Haji Suhaili bin Haji Jaafar during which he
congratulated the students for their academic performance.
He added that parental support was
crucial to the students' academic achievements.
More than 90 per cent of the students
passed PSR in 2003 and the school was planning to add more academic
programmes and extracurricular activities to further enhance the
students' learning abilities.
He also urged the Bolkiah Garrison to
assist the school in building a lab to prepare it for the new exam
system in 2005 where science students will be required to sit for
practical as well as written examinations.
Later, the guest of honour presented
prizes to top three students in each class as well as those who
achieved 5As or 4As and 1B in PSR last year.
