Youths attend Belait District
mosque programme

Youths attend the programme at the Kg Pandan Mosque in Kuala Belait,
yesterday morning.
A total of 65 youths from six
different mosques in the Belait District attended the Youth Mosque
programme organised by the Belait District Mosque Affairs Office, held
at the Kg Pandan Mosque in Kuala Belait yesterday morning.
Three representatives each from Mohd
Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kg Pandan Mosque, Kg Sg Teraban Mosque, Pekan
Seria Mosque, Kg Bukit Sawat Mosque, Al-Mashor Mosque and Kg Sg Liang
Mosque also participated in an Azan competition as part of the
programme. A "Jawi" writing competition was also held yesterday.
Present as chief guest at the
programme was the Belait District Deputy Chief Religious Officer Awg
Hj Mohammad bin Hj Garing who delivered a speech prior to the prize
and certificate presentation ceremony.
Belait District Mosque Affairs
Officer Awg Zulkifli bin Hj Zakaria highlighted that the programme was
meant to bring youths closer to the mosques, to implement the feeling
of affection towards mosques, to provide motivation to youths on their
role in Islam and to put mosques as a gathering centre for youths
through guidance and goodwill activities.
In addition to the Jawi and Azan
competitions, youths also participated in a religious talk called "The
Role of Youths in Islam".

Zulkifli also added that the programme would be diversifying its
activities to include sports, a bicycle expedition from mosque to
mosque, a religious talk session, a "Subuh" lecture, quizzes and other
competitions.
The programme ended yesterday with a
"Doa selamat" and a mass "Zuhur" prayer.
