Kampong Bebuloh Now Shining Example Of Religious Progress

Bandar Seri Begawan – Various religious activities by the people of Kampong Bebuloh in the Brunei-Muara District has contributed to the success of the kampong propagating the Islamic teachings.

The progress made by the Kampong has attracted visitors from the Temburong District

The Temburong delegation made up of religious officers toured Kampong Bebuloh Religious Centre to observe the religious activities which were conducted daily at the centre.

The visitors were briefed on the centre's role and activities arranged that would benefit the community as a whole.

The centre also carried out social activities for the young and the elderly.

Daily mass prayers, dikir nasyid, and lessons on hadrah and fardhu kifayah or preparing the dead for burial are among the critical knowledge the centre wished to impart especially to the new converts.

The Islamic Dakwah Centre also provides scheduled religious lessons to further enhance the residents’ knowledge on Islam.

As a future planning, the centre hopes to hold computer lessons and additional classes to aid students in their studies.

Apart from evaluating and to study the development of Islam at the kampong, the visitors also held discussions on the involvement of youth, adults and the elderly in the programmes organised by the Kampong Bebuloh religious centre.

The centre became the main focal point of religious activities since its establishment in 1997.

The Ketua Kampong Awang Mohd Said bin Abdullah Tundak said 600 of the more than 1,000 residents of the kampong are now Muslims. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
