Sultan Bestows Medals To 423 People

Bandar Seri Begawan – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei has awarded the Brunei Darussalam Honorary Medals to 423 people which His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah presented at the Dewan Persantapan Lapau in the capital.

Fifty-three people received the Meritorious Service Medal (PJK) among the recipients were the Syarie High Court Judge, Pehin Dato Ustaz Awang Haji Salim and the Attorney-General, Dato Awang Haji Kifrawi.

Among the criteria for the recipients of the Meritorious Service Medal is total loyalty to His Majesty Sultan of Brunei and devote oneself to the monarch, nation and religion.

Recipients comprised of officers and staff of the government of His Majesty Sultan of Brunei.

Meanwhile, 179 recipients received the Pingat Indah Kerja Balk (PIKB).

Each recipient must have good service records while in government service.

One hundred and eighty six received the Long Service Medal (PKL).

Present at the ceremony were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Cheterias, cabinet ministers, members of council, diplomats, permanent secretaries and heads of department.
