Air Force Chief Receives Singapore
Award

Begawan - The Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, Colonel
(U) Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin was conferred Singapore's prestigious
military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or Meritorious
Service Medal (Military ), by Singapore's Minister for Defence,
Rear-Admiral (RADM) (NS) Teo Chee Hean at an investiture ceremony in
the Ministry of Defence.
The Meritorious Service Medal
(Military) was awarded to Col (U) Haji Mahmud in recognition of the
significant role he has played in enhancing the excellent ties and
closer interactions between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and
the Royal Brunei Air Force.
Col (U) Haji Mahmud's leadership has
enabled a further strengthening of the longstanding friendship between
the two air forces.
The broad spectrum of bilateral
interactions and professional exchanges has also enhanced
professionalism and camaraderie between the officers and men of the
two air forces.
COL (U) Haji Mahmud, who was in
Singapore from l6 to 19 Jan, also called on his counterpart. Chief of
