Golf Strengthens Government And
Shell Ties

Begawan – A friendly golf tournament between senior officials
of the government departments and the management of the Brunei Shell
Petroleum (BSP) concluded with a prize presentation yesterday.
The one-day tournament took place at
the Empire Golf and Country Club in Jerudong.
Leading the golfers from the
government departments was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of
Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Belaman,
while the Managing Director BSP, Mr Mark Carne led the golfers from
his company and the BSM, BST and BLNG.
Prizes were handed over by Dato Awang
Haji Idris.
The best team was the government
golfers' team collecting 325 points while the Brunei Shell team
collected 273 points.
Besides strengthening the existing
close relationship between the government departments and the Brunei
Shell Petroleum, the golf tournament was intended at extending BSP's
appreciation to members of the taskforce set up to address the issue
of fishing within the safety zone of BSP's offshore oil installation.
