Customers Keep Bluesky Fares
Website Busy
By RosliAbidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Royal Brunei's website, www.bruneiair.com, was at low
speed the last couple of nights as excited customers tried to buy
supersave Bluesky Fares, which are offered at a fraction of normal
costs by the national carrier.
The Bulletin received several calls
saying that access to the website took a lot of time when trying to
enter or get response from it.
While others managed to purchase the
cheaper fares through this service, others said they were not able to
do it and were quoted the usual prices. As stated by Royal Brunei,
seats for them are limited while terms and conditions still apply.
The sensational Bluesky Fares are
given far the period from February 1 until March 31, even though
online purchasing could already be done since Saturday, when the
national carrier announced its breathtaking offers and consequently
caused a public frenzy.
Out of curiosity, this reporter also
accessed the web site and enquired about a one-way ticket to Kota
Kinabalu next month. It quoted $3 for taxes on top of the Blue sky
Fares price of $38.
However, $487 including tax was
quoted for a return ticket to Kuala Lumpur, suggesting that the budget
fare of $68 may have already been heavily purchased.
Under this promotion, a one-way trip
to Kota Kinabalu costs only $38. Other destinations of Kuala Lumpur,
Kutching, Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar cost $68 and $138 for Darwin.
Some callers said they were not
familiar with this website and would try to purchase the Bluesky Fares
tickets again.
"I want to take my family to Kuala
Lumpur :or a vacation next month since those who purchase these
sensational fares will also be entitled to the same facilities as
others, such as a full meal service and seat assignment," said one of
them.
The decision by Royal Brunei also
received high praises from the public as it attracts new customers who
have never flown in a plane before.
It is also encouraging the growth in
number of frequent traveller as people would now be able to make
several holidays in a year.
