300 Youths Questioned Over Party
By Abdul Rahim Ismail

Bandar Seri Begawan - Almost 300 youths were queried Saturday night by the police at a private party.

The said party was held at a sports club in the capital. The party also allegedly featured a live band without obtaining a permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The swimming pool area was reportedly used to dump alcoholic drinks by some youth during the raid.

A spokesman for the Crime Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters in Gadong said the organiser of the party went against the rules by holding a party and allegedly selling tickets for entry without acquiring the required permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A total of 198 tickets were allegedly sold although the numbers present were found out to be more than that. The spokesman also added that the presence of live band at the party was also against the rules.

The police urged parents to keep an eye on their children's movements and social interaction in order to stop them from joining such "illegal" parties.
