The Jerudong Police District launched
the 'Road Traffic Awareness Campaign' on Saturday afternoon by
carrying out a roadblock at the Jalan Mulaut-Limau Manis road in Kg
Mulaut. Around 10 Royal Brunei Police Force personnel led by the
District Traffic Officer were involved.
The main aim of such inspections was
to raise awareness among road users about the importance of obeying
traffic rules and regulations.
Written warning were also handed out
to motorists caught breaking minor traffic laws that included
modifying their cars, broken licence plates, tainted windows and
window sunshades. Motorists who were issued warning letters will be
given a grace period to rectify the matter accordingly. The inspection
also sought to apprehend major traffic offenders including expired
road tax and driving without a valid licence.
The campaign, which is held in
conjunction with the 83rd Anniversary of RBPF, is expected to last for
two weeks until February 7.
